Delete your Eave account or data (Eave Property LLC)
Eave, the home upkeep app on the App Store, Google Play and app.eavehome.app, is made by Eave Property LLC. This page explains how to delete some of your data or your whole account, in the app or without signing in, and what we keep afterwards and for how long.
1. Delete specific data
You can remove individual records at any time and keep your account. The steps are the same on the web app at app.eavehome.app and in the iOS and Android apps unless noted. Nothing here needs a request to us. Deleting a record is permanent.
Projects, tasks, appliances and other records
- Open the record: a project, task, reminder, appliance or system, contractor, space or life event.
- Choose the trash icon or Remove in its detail view. Edit and delete always live in the detail view, never on the list.
- Confirm. The record, its notes and its history are deleted right away.
Documents and photos
- Go to Memory, then Documents.
- On the document's row choose Remove, then Remove it.
- The stored file is erased along with the facts Eave read from it. Links to it on appliances or systems disappear.
Photos belong to the record they were captured for. Deleting that project or record erases its photos, and deleting your account erases every photo. If you need one photo removed on its own, write to us using the form below and we will do it by hand.
Connected sources (Gmail, Google Calendar and others)
- In the web app, open the profile menu (your initials, top right) and choose Connected Sources.
- Next to the source, choose Disconnect.
Disconnecting deletes the access token Eave held, so Eave can no longer read that account. Items you already confirmed into your home stay until you delete them. You can also revoke Eave from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. The mobile apps show your sources but connecting and disconnecting happen on the web. SmartThings imports use a one-time token that is never stored, so there is nothing to disconnect.
2. Delete your whole account
Deleting your account removes everything listed under what gets deleted. It takes effect immediately and there is no undo.
Before you delete. From Account & Access you can export everything in your home as one file; do that first if you want a copy. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your Apple or Google subscription settings. A plan bought on the web is cancelled from Membership, then Manage billing; do that before you delete.
In the web app
- Sign in at app.eavehome.app.
- Open the profile menu (your initials, top right) and choose Account & Access.
- Scroll to Danger Zone and choose Delete.
- Eave checks what goes with your account and tells you, for example a home you share or an open escrow desk that needs handing over first.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then choose Delete My Account. You are signed out and the account is gone.
In the iOS or Android app
- Tap your profile button and choose Settings.
- Scroll past Account to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete account.
- Eave checks what goes with your account, then asks you to confirm. Confirm, and the account is deleted immediately.
If Eave cannot delete the account on its own, it tells you why in one sentence and nothing is deleted. The usual reasons are that you are the last member of a firm, or you hold an open escrow desk nobody else can take over. Fix that in the app, or use the form below and we will close the account with you.
3. Request deletion without the app
You do not need to be signed in, or still have the app installed. Send us the email address on the account and we will take it from there. Because anyone can type an address here, we reply to that address first to confirm the request is really yours, then delete the account and its data within 30 days. Nothing is deleted on the strength of this form alone.
Prefer email? Write to support@eaveproperty.com with the subject “Delete my Eave account” from the address on your account. The same verification and 30-day timeline apply.
4. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, in the app or by request, we delete:
- Your profile and sign-in: name, email address, password, Google sign-in link, sessions and the device tokens used for push notifications.
- Your properties: every home, space and area you own, with its address, details and property context.
- Your records: projects, tasks and task history, reminders, appliances and systems, contractors, purchase records, life events, score history and badges.
- Documents and photos: the stored files and the facts Eave read from them.
- Notes: on every record and search you own.
- Connected-source tokens: Gmail, Google Calendar and any other linked account. Eave never stored the contents of your mailbox; items you confirmed into your home are deleted with the records above.
- Home searches you own as a buyer, including their candidates, documents and questions.
- Your household memberships, and any Eave access you were paying for on someone else's behalf.
Data you added to a home that someone else owns, such as a household member's home or a Partner's firm, belongs to that home and stays with its owner. Your name on those entries is removed.
5. What we keep, and for how long
We keep as little as the law and ordinary bookkeeping require. None of it lets anyone open your home record again.
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Encrypted database backups | Up to 7 days | Daily backups are kept for 7 days for disaster recovery, then overwritten. Deleted data is never restored from them except to recover the whole service from an outage. |
| Billing and payment records | Up to 7 years | Invoices, receipts, refunds and subscription history, held with our payment processors (Stripe on the web; Apple, Google and RevenueCat for the mobile apps). Required for tax and accounting. These records contain no home data. |
| Anonymized usage records | Kept | AI usage and credit ledger entries lose their link to you the moment the account is deleted. What remains is counts and costs with no name, email or home attached. |
| Support conversations | Up to 2 years | Messages you sent to support, including this request, so we can show a deletion was asked for and done. |
| Fraud prevention and legal holds | As long as the matter requires | Where we must keep something to prevent abuse, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. This is rare and limited to what that purpose needs. |
| Other people's own records | Theirs to keep | A Partner who worked an escrow with you keeps their own record of the dates, marked as a former client, without your documents, notes or details. A household member keeps their own home. |
Timing: deletion in the app is immediate. A request made through this page or by email is completed within 30 days of our confirming it with you. Our Privacy Policy says the same thing, and governs if the two ever differ.
