Tap “What’s nagging you?” on Home and pick Talk, Photo, or Type. One sentence is plenty: “the deck boards feel loose near the steps.”

Eave fills in the fields

Title, description, room, category, status, priority, and an estimated cost, plus a contractor from your list if one fits the job.

You review and save

Fix anything that’s off, then Review + save. The project lands in Projects, under the room it’s in.

The plan builds itself

Right after saving, Eave generates a Smart Plan: skill level, time, whether a permit is likely, tools and materials, and a budget range.

You didn’t pick a room from a dropdown or guess at a category. Eave read what you said and did it. Once you save, the Smart Plan fills in the rest, checking your past purchases so it can tell the ladder you own from the sealant you’ll need to buy.

The widget on Home goes further. It reads your home first, from the spaces and appliances to your plan and contractors, so one sentence can become several records at once. Each one waits under Review before adding until you say yes.

Guided project plans

Bigger jobs get a few
good questions first.

A new water heater isn’t a burned-out bulb. For jobs with real choices in them, Eave asks what it needs to know, shows you what it’s assuming, and then researches the plan with live data. Guided plans come with Eave Intelligence at $2.99 a month, and with a paid Commercial seat.

A Smart Plan sorts tools into ones you likely have and ones to buy, using what you’ve bought before. Materials you already have are marked the same way, so you don’t buy a second tube of the same caulk.

Maintain plans end with a button to add the job to your Upkeep Plan, where recurring work shows up as tasks like this one: the steps, a reminder, the cost done yourself or by a pro, and the tools you already have.

Is capture free?

Typing is free on every plan, and Eave builds the project from what you type. Voice capture, photo reading, and guided project plans are part of Eave Intelligence, at $2.99 a month or $24 a year. On Free, a photo is saved to the project and you pick the room and category yourself. Members of a paying Commercial organization get all of it. See pricing →

Can I capture by voice?

Yes, with Eave Intelligence. Tap Talk and say it the way you’d tell a friend: “the master bathroom toilet keeps running, probably a flapper, maybe $150.” Your words are typed out in the browser for you to check, and Eave drafts a project in the Master Bath under Plumbing with the cost filled in. Voice works in Chrome, Edge, and Safari, in English.

What does Eave figure out from a photo?

With Eave Intelligence, Eave reads what it sees, such as cracked caulk around a tub, and drafts the project from the picture: room, category, priority, and cost. On the free plan the photo is saved and you fill in the details. Either way, you review it before it saves.

What’s the difference between a Smart Plan and a guided plan?

A Smart Plan is added automatically after you save a project: skill level, time, permit, tools, materials, an approach, tutorials, vendor leads, and a budget range. A guided plan is for jobs with real choices in them. Eave asks two to four questions first, shows what it’s assuming, and researches the plan with live data, dated so you know when it was checked.

Does anything save without me?

A captured project waits for Review + save. When the widget turns one sentence into several records, such as a task and a contractor, each one waits under Review before adding. The plan that follows a saved project builds on its own, and you can edit anything in it.
