Fair housing

Fair housing at Eave

Short, plain, and linkable. This is what Eave shows about a place, and what it will never say.

What Eave shows

For a home you are considering, Eave shows the school district it is zoned into, by name, with a link to the district’s own site. It shows the official flood zone, fire severity zone, and seismic designation from the government source that publishes them, each with its source and date. It shows the county’s tax rate as an estimate, the electric service territory, and the broadband picture from public records.

What Eave does not do

Eave does not rate, score, rank, or characterise a school, a neighbourhood, an area, or the people who live in it. It does not describe a place as good or bad, or say anything about who lives there. It does not present a vendor’s proprietary risk score as a fact. It does not use a home’s location to steer anyone toward or away from it. None of this is a feature we have not gotten to yet. It is a commitment.

Why

The Fair Housing Act protects people from discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability. Characterising schools and neighbourhoods is one of the ways that discrimination has historically worked. Eave’s job is to tell you what a house is, sourced and dated. Where to live is yours to decide.

For agents

Eave for Buyers gives your clients the district name and the official links, nothing more. Recommendations you write on a candidate are yours and are on the record with your name on them. Eave will not add a rating beside them.
